at Grace

Advent and Christmas at Grace are cherished seasons of hopeful waiting and joyful celebration. As we prepare our hearts for the coming of the Christ Child into the world, we also welcome Jesus into our lives anew, letting His light and love shape us again this year.

These weeks invite us to gather as a community—pausing from the rush, honoring meaningful traditions, creating lasting memories, and offering generosity to others. Together, we wait with expectation, and on Christmas Eve we rejoice in the miraculous birth of Jesus, celebrating the Savior who comes to dwell with us and within us.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship

Wednesday, December 24

Christmas Prelude at 5:00pm

Join us for one of two nearly-identical Christmas Eve worship services as we gather in the glow of this holy night to sing beloved carols and hear a message of hope from Pastor Sarah. Together we will share in the gift of Holy Communion and light our candles as we sing “Silent Night,” celebrating the light of Christ born into the world. This time of worship will fill you with peace, joy, and the wonder of God’s love made flesh in Jesus.

A special 30-minute Christmas musical prelude begins at 5:00pm.

The theme for our Sunday worship services during Advent is “The Power of Yes.” In our modern times, there are so many reasons to not say yes. But we come from a history of people who said yes. Throughout the story of the people of God, brave and faithful, everyday people said yes to God. In Advent, these yeses are even more significant. Join us in worship to learn about how we can say yes to God this Advent.
Midweek Advent Vespers

During this busy time of year, we invite you to lean into the season of Advent with themes of listening, waiting, and expectation. The theme of our midweek services embraces the darkness of these long Advent nights as a place where we encounter the beauty and mystery of God. Our scripture and songs are filled with imagery in which the darkness is filled with the glory of God.
Christmas Cookie Walk

One of our church’s more popular Advent traditions is the Christmas Cookie Walk Bake Sale put on by the Glow and Ignite youth each December. For a donation of just $15, you receive a container that you can fill with as many baked Christmas goodies as you can fit inside!
Children’s Christmas Program

Sunday, December 14
During 9:00am Worship Service

Our Spark Kids and Fireflies will share the musical, “Stars! Angels! Shepherds! Kings!”, which tells the Christmas story from the perspective of the stars, angels, shepherds, and kings. Following worship, all are invited to the Fellowship Hall for cookies, and children will be able to do a Christmas craft in the Fireside room. There will not be Faith Formation classes held this day.
Live Nativity

Sunday, December 14
4:30-6:30pm

Our Live Nativity is Grace Lutheran’s Christmas Gift to the Community. Join us for an evening of live actors and live animals silently telling the story of Jesus’ birth, fire pits and hot chocolate outside, and a free-will soup supper, children’s craft activities, and beautiful Christmas music indoors. Each year hundreds of community members join us as we share food, fellowship, and faith around the story of Christmas.
Christmas Carol Sing Along

New this year at the Live Nativity, we will have a Christmas Carol Sing Along in the Sanctuary. Featuring some of the most beloved Christmas hymns accompanied by piano, organ, brass, and woodwinds, this Sing Along will tell the story of Jesus’ birth through scripture and song, and will be a festive way to celebrate the season.
