“The Paper Clips” trombone quartet concert
The Paper Clips are a trombone quartet founded in 2019 and based in Minneapolis, MN. We are dedicated to connecting the threads of classical & contemporary music, bringing the best of American popular music to audiences of all ages.
Our current program combines the soulful melodies and exciting rhythms of Classic Motown with the power of the trombone quartet in an engaging and informative performance. The “Motown Sound” has left an enduring legacy in music history and still influences the music artists of today. We aim to connect the sound of “Hitsville, USA” to its roots in Black American Music and popular music styles of the 20th century, showcasing the history and cultural impact of the Motown Records label.
You can now stream our debut album, Motown Trombone Sound, on all major platforms! The album features all the hits from our popular Motown program developed over 2 years through the MPR Class Notes program. Recorded by Adam Tucker at SignatureTone (2021) in May 2023.
