Worship is at the center of our life together and the best opportunity to visit us for the first time. We worship each Sunday at 9:00am.
Our worship services are an intentional blend of classic and modern music and language. Worship at Grace follows the same general pattern of Lutheran worship each week, but also varies from week to week and season to season. Each worship service is both familiar and unique.
As you prepare to worship with us for the first time, here are answers to some common questions you may have:
- Where do I park and enter the church?
Parking is available in the parking lots east of our church, on the streets near our church, and there are a few spots in the driveway on the west side of the building along Highway 75.
The best doors to enter our church are the main double doors on the east side of our building off of the parking lot. When you enter those doors, you can go up the stairs to your right to reach the Sanctuary, where worship is held, on the second level. There is also an elevator available to your left. If you enter on the west double doors off of Highway 75, you will be on the second level and walk into the Sanctuary. When you enter, you will be welcomed by a volunteer greeter who can help you find the Sanctuary, a restroom, or answer any questions that you may have.
- Are children welcome in worship?
Absolutely! We have many young families and children in our church and in our worship. Our worship services include a children’s message and song each Sunday. We have age-appropriate activity bags available for children to use during worship if interested. There is also an unstaffed nursery on the second level that parents can utilize. Please ask an usher or greeter for directions.
- What programs are available for children on Sunday mornings?
Most Sundays we have faith formation options following worship for children birth to 5th grade. Little Lights (infants to toddlers and a caring adult) meet downstairs in the Fireside Room from 10:15-10:45am; Fireflies (preschool age 3 – Kindergarten) and Spark Kids (1st-5th grades) meet from 10:00-11:00am for what used to be known as Sunday School. Contact Erika Bierman or the church office.
- Will I be asked to introduce myself or give an offering?
Not at all! While we hope you are welcomed by individuals when you visit, you will not be asked to introduce yourself or stand up when you visit. As a guest, you will also not be expected to give an offering. Your presence with us as a guest is a gift!
- Will Holy Communion be served and may I participate?
Yes! We celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion in worship every Sunday. At Grace Lutheran, we realize that we come to the Communion table at Christ’s invitation. Children who have not gone through First Communion instruction are invited to come up to receive a blessing. Gluten free wafers and grape juice are available upon request.
- What do I wear to worship?
There is no dress code at our worship! On any Sunday, you will see some people dressed up, some people in jeans, and many people dressed somewhere in between. We simply want you to feel comfortable joining us in worship!
- How do I learn more about Grace or become a member of Grace Lutheran?
New members are generally welcomed twice a year, but you and your family are welcome to join the ministry and mission of Grace Lutheran at any time! We host a “Get to Know Grace” session each fall and spring for potential members to learn more about our church and decide if they would like to join our faith family. Please contact Pastor Sarah or the church office, or fill out a Connection Card in the pews, if you are interested in more information on membership.
- How do I introduce myself or ask a question?
We would be honored to get to know you and your family and to support you in any way that we can. Feel free to fill out a blue Connection Card to introduce yourself, let us know you are visiting, indicate interest in membership, offer a prayer request, ask a question, or leave a comment. You can also fill out a Connection Card online to introduce yourself!
