This fall, members of Grace Lutheran are invited to walk together on A Journey of Faith and Generosity at Grace Lutheran Church. This stewardship appeal will encourage members to share Christ’s love locally, nationally and globally. Strengthened and expanded resources will touch neighbors across the globe, near and far in a meaningful way.
Members at Grace are already making a difference within our church walls and beyond. Looking forward to 2026, the congregation will consider how we may continue to fulfill the call to serve as Christ’s hands and feet among members and the Church.
The Generous Path is an invitation grow in trust and faith in the Lord, knowing that God’s path is always better than those that we may have chosen on our own. Christ’s followers continue to be transformed by taking one step at a time down God’s path, that their lives and love are closer to that of Christ’s.

As Grace Lutheran continues to grow in discipleship, the capacity to trust God and follow Christ’s direction to Love God and Love Others, members also grow in awareness of who neighbors are. Neighbors are, indeed, the people who live next door and the people in Luverne, but it doesn’t stop there. It is every person that is beloved by God. It is all of humanity. In 2025, Grace Lutheran took a leap of faith to practice love in action globally by partnering with Casas por Cristo to build a home for a local family in Guatemala.
What began as a mission of good work became a congregation-wide mission. It is hoped that this mission continues in 2026 by partnering with Casas por Cristo again and growing the number of people who would like to work side by side in this journey of faith to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world.
National Outreach has been a part of Grace’s work in the past, but The Generous Path
promotes the sustainable foundation of making mission programming for our youth be included
annually.
Our youth can be a great resource for spreading the love of Christ at a national level. Much work is needed in areas around the United States, and programs are in place to coordinate helping those in need. A U.S. based mission trip by our Glow group is a great way for our high school youth to learn lifelong lessons while bonding together and sharing the love of Christ.
It is understood that not all mission trips have to be far away. Neighbors here in Luverne and in the surrounding areas need to hear the good news of Jesus. These funds will increase our ability to serve those locally and lend a helping hand. This congregation has a great heart for serving others, so to have funds set aside for mission opportunity eliminates a barrier for creating something new.
There are many people and organizations around our area that are doing good work but are lacking resources to expand or fulfil their missions. By supporting these organizations and causes financially, we can provide support beyond our church walls and strengthen our community partnerships.
Not all mission work needs to be far away. Our neighbors right here at home also need us. The Generous Path creates opportunity for someone to say “Yes” to the ways the Holy Spirit is already at work, inviting us to serve our neighbor right here. It gives financial opportunity to create mission in Luverne and lend a helping hand.
The work our Pastor, staff and volunteers is tremendous. Their work is very appreciated, but often underestimated is the support it takes to continue having a robust energized team at Grace Lutheran. Generous Path seeks to fully support these efforts through continuing education, training, technology adaptation, idea creation and execution to ensure leaders guiding Grace Lutheran faithfully into the future.
The Generous Path helps to foundationally support these efforts and their growth through continuing education, training, technology adaptation and updates, idea creation and execution to ensure we create a positive and faithful environment for our leaders who diligently guide Grace Lutheran into the future.
Your participation will help reach this goal. This chart points out the weekly giving by members in July, 2024 through June 2025 and how increased giving by many members can make these ministry initiatives possible for 2026.
Look over the chart and ask yourself these questions:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
Proverbs 3: 5-6
Every household at Grace Lutheran is invited to prayerfully consider how they can take a step forward on The Generous Path. Every increased gift, no matter the size, helps begin this journey together and meet the needs of tomorrow’s ministry.
Please pray about our congregation’s mission and ministry together. Pray about your offering for the 2026. Pray about your response to the opportunity as you consider increasing your generosity for the coming year.
Be ready to complete your commitment card and present it during Commitment Sunday, October 5. You also can mail your response directly to the church office at Grace Lutheran.
The generous expanded generosity of members will help Grace Lutheran
Together as we reach out with the Gospel to one another and to our greater community, the Lord will bring blessings to you, to Grace Lutheran and to the world. Thank you for being part of this exciting congregation.
